ed gmail messages

I deleted my inbox on Microsoft Outlook and it was just a matter of minutes or hours for the emails to appear in my outbox. So I just got rid of the email emails, but then when I went back to my inbox, all the messages were empty and unread. It’s a pain to delete all those emails. And you know what’s worse? The fact that I now have no inbox at all. Just messages in an app on my phone. All deleted from my emails. As we said it goes with life things, right? Well, you might be lucky if your email account is up and running after deleting the emails, but this is not the case for me, and nor is yours. But don’t fret, there are ways to recover the emails. In the following article, I will show you how to do exactly that. Let’s get started, shall we!

How to Recover Your Email Emails

Here’s another situation that was interesting to me, and as always, before I start I like to put some context into these troubleshooting stories that I write, so here’s something I want you to know and think about before reading further… As humans, we tend to forget our passwords sometimes or forget where certain emails come from. Our emails and even our phones are connected in such a way that we tend to access them simultaneously. Sometimes we’re sending emails from one device to the other with only one connection for both devices. Usually this happens when we were sending an important message to someone we care about and they weren’t available for that one-to-one conversation. If you’re like me and a lot of you, you feel bad about losing your mail due to your own computer crash. That’s why I find it better to recover the information stored inside of your email inbox, and hopefully also restore communication to normal. Below is the process I used to recover deleted emails:

Step 1 — Get an external hard drive

I have several reasons to choose External Hard Drive over any local network drive, and as usual, I chose the internal drive because there’s probably more storage than I thought there was, especially the files in the email system. We can also use Google Drive instead on Windows so let’s just keep the file system intact. You could always manually backup your data to Google Drive, though.

First thing, make sure that you have plenty of space on your external hard drive. If I remember correctly you need at least 10GB of space. Also, make sure that you have read every line of every email that comes inside of Microsoft Outlook. This will help to avoid having to move around and delete important accounts and file folders because Microsoft Outlook has deleted all the important files that the mailbox contains. Once you have all of these features, copy over all of the emails that you’ve deleted from your mailbox, and keep a note of each. These notes should help with future recovery attempts in the future.

Step 2 — Backup your emails on Google Drive.

I’m usually pretty picky in terms of which apps I actually use on my laptop; for example, I use Google Drive for business work only because I really like using cloud storage. One of the main benefits though is actually accessing the information that the email system stores. To achieve this I chose a Gmail account on Gmail.com.com as well as an iCloud account that allows me to easily browse all of the emails that are stored on my inbox. The easiest way for people to view the emails they have saved is to open their inbox and click on “View emails.” There is a good chance that you will see a list of the emails that are stored on your inbox. Once you view the emails you have to go through each email so that you can identify and correct any issues that may be arising. Clicking on the email you want to open will open it, so you can go ahead and edit it. Once you’ve identified all of the information it needs, you can either rename the email as you wish because most people only want a plain email, or remove all of the headers. Again, before removing the header you need to make sure that they are relevant to the email you’re working on. By renaming email, you’ll also have to re-read the email by going back to the inbox and selecting the email from the dropdown menu. Selecting the email is easy as well, simply go to it and select “Replay email body.” Now you can go ahead and add an attachment. An attached image will be automatically saved as an attachment to your mail account so you can reuse it later on.

Step 3 — Restores your calendar.

Now for the tricky part, once you’ve identified all the emails that you’ve removed from your mailbox, go ahead and re-open up your Mail section on Microsoft Outlook so that you have the full email view. When you do open your mail account, you should be able to scroll down and find the mail section as well as the Calendar view. Clicking on it will open it, and you can go ahead and change it and delete all of the emails or messages that you have deleted from your mailbox. Or you can drag and drop the emails or messages onto the timeline below. Clicking on the date range shows you all the dates that were sent to the sender, and allows you to modify them. You can also go ahead and click on the arrows and arrows button to sort through messages by date. You can also go forward and delete the emails on the same timeline that you made changes on. After deleting the whole email body, you should be able to view them all on the timeline above. Clicking on the arrow marks should open up to the emails that you’ve saved and clicked on each email is highlighted and shows each email that was received and saved by you. Each email is highlighted with the name of the sender, the subject and date that the email was sent to him/her, and the recipient’s email address. On clicking on each email that you have to go ahead and right-click on the email and select “Edit Email” and then open it in a different tab. Then click on “Save All Changes.” You’ll notice that you can preview the email in the preview pane because it’s highlighted and it comes right below the notification box. From here you can click on the email and then double-click the email for editing all the comments. This is great to see as it is very helpful in helping us sort through the emails that they have sent to us. Clicking on the comment shows you the comment along with the name of the sender, the email and the date of the email. Go on to click on all of the emails and mark them as your marked ones. You can save them to the recycle bin. You can also remove them from the recycle bin by dragging them out of the recycle bin and moving them somewhere else which I choose a folder on my computer.

Now, once you’ve done everything and edited all of the emails that you have had to delete, if they haven’t been edited in the past 24hrs then you can archive them and add them to your documents, photos, emails, etc. This is useful because you can easily search for emails or messages from anyone who has taken it into your Gmail account, even if you didn’t know he/she existed in the first place. All of your emails or messages should be archived into a separate directory within the email system. Even if you have deleted all of the messages that were stored on Microsoft Outlook, you can still archive them as they come in, and by doing so they will stay there forever, but the images will still be permanent and the emails will still be there for you to retrieve at any moment. To archive the emails that you have deleted from your mailbox, first uninstall Microsoft Outlook and then uninstall the program on your PC. Open up the email and press on the arrow symbol to archive it. Make sure that the email doesn’t have a number between 2 and 5 to indicate it’s deleted from Microsoft Outlook. Click on the arrow icon before pressing on the arrow to archive. A dialog box will pop up and you may need to change the password that opens the email. Clicking on the name of the email will open the email in the email window in Microsoft Outlook. Pressing on the arrow symbol will open the email in the email window. Enter the password again and then click the arrow to close the email. Send these emails to the group, contact list, etc. With these actions, you should be OK to send them to a group or contact list with the emails that have been archived into a folder or document. They will not be deleted on your email account however, only archived into a folder or document. If you follow these simple steps, you should be able to recover your deleted emails.

In Conclusion

There might have been times when you wanted to delete all of the emails in your inbox, but you knew in advance it would take time to recover the data after a long time of deleting some. Thankfully, you can recover your emails and stop them from appearing completely wiped out in the email inbox. However, a few precautions may be needed. Firstly, make sure that all of your contacts send a confirmation email to confirm what you have done, whether it worked or not. Secondly, make sure that you double-check your email and log in with your account before sending emails to yourself or anyone you are speaking to for your company. Lastly make sure that you clean your inbox regularly with spam apps to keep it clean.
